Kholid explained that Article 458 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code regulates that a person who intentionally takes another person's life can be sentenced to a maximum of 16 years in prison.
"For paragraph 2, it regulates the criminal act of taking the life of a mother, father, husband, wife, or biological child, then it can be punished by adding one-third of the threat of punishment in paragraph 1," said Kholid.
Furthermore, he said that Article 459 of the Criminal Code is related to the criminal rule for premeditated murder.
"The threat of punishment can be sentenced to death, life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years in prison," he said.
Kholid said the motive for the BP perpetrator to kill his biological mother was revealed after the NTB Police Puma Team made an arrest on Monday night (26/1). The perpetrator was arrested at his home in the East Monjok area, Mataram City.
"This arrest was made in less than two times in 24 hours," he said.
