Bengkalis Police Member of Riau Narcotics Operation, Police Chief Promises to Punish PTDH

Bengkalis - Head of the Bengkalis Police (Kapolres) AKBP Fabrian Saleh Siregar confirmed that he would process the general crime of three of his members who were arrested in a drug raid at a hotel on Yos Sudarso Street, Bengkalis, Riau.

Fabrian ensured that the criminal process and code of ethics to the Dismissal Without Honor (PTDH) sanctions were imposed on three members of the Bengkalis Police.

"I will ensure that these three members of the National Police will be held accountable for their actions. They are processed for general criminal offenses and also for a code of ethics trial with the sanction of PTDH (dismissal)," he said in a statement received in Pekanbaru, Friday, quoted by Antara.

Three police officers in the Bengkalis Police were secured along with four other civilians in an operation to raid a hotel on Saturday, January 17 in the early hours.

When raided, the seven people were suspected of being in the midst of a drug party in one of the hotel rooms.

The three police officers who were arrested had the initials Briptu MA, Brigpol PP, and Bripda MS.

"Currently, the three police officers along with four other civilians are undergoing intensive examination to delve into their respective roles," said Fabrian.

The new police chief, who has been serving in Bengkalis since Thursday, January 22, revealed that while serving in Indragiri Hulu, he had fired six of his members who were involved in drug cases.

"What I did there, the same thing I will apply in Bengkalis," he said.

According to him, Bengkalis has a high vulnerability to drug trafficking due to geographical factors which are one of the entry points for illegal goods.

Therefore, supervision cannot only rely on law enforcement officers, but also requires the active role of all elements of society.

The Police Chief also opened the widest possible space for the public to report and his party would not protect his own men if they were proven to be involved in drug abuse.

"If there are members of the National Police who abuse drugs, report it. I make sure I will immediately take action," he said.
