Lampung - The Lampung Regional Police (Polda) has partnered with Lampung University (Unila) in handling land disputes involving communities, companies, and governments in the Tulang Bawang Regency area.

"We have had a meeting and the Police invited Unila to play a role as an academic, but also to go directly to the field to handle agrarian conflicts in Lampung," said Unila Rector Prof. Lusmeilia Afriani, in a statement in Bandarlampung, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

He emphasized that Unila would deploy a team of experts from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the Faculty of Law (FH) as well as the Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) team to conduct an educational and persuasive approach to the conflicts that occurred in Tulang Bawang and Central Lampung.

"We agree on concrete synergy. For community service, Unila together with the Lampung Police will go to conflict areas, such as land disputes in Tulang Bawang," he said.

In addition, he said, Unila will also involve Lampung indigenous figures in discussions to resolve this conflict so that the approach taken is more accepted and touches the roots of community culture.

"We will also involve the Research and Community Service Agency (LPPM) and a team from KKN to conduct direct approaches in providing education to the community," he said.

The Lampung Police had previously held coordination meetings, hearings, and field dialogues related to the conflict over the occupation of the Rawa Isenpatow Bonow land, which is located in the area of HGU PT. Indo Lampung Perkasa (ILP).

This is a strategic effort by the National Police together with Forkopimda in reducing agrarian conflicts involving residents of three Bakung Villages (Bakung Udik, Bakung Ilir, and Bakung Rahayu), Gedung Meneng District, Tulang Bawang Regency.
