16 Villages in Central Aceh Re-accessible After Bailey Bridge Completed

BANDA ACEH - The construction of a bailey bridge connecting two sub-districts, namely Silih Nara and Rusip Antara, Central Aceh Regency, Aceh, has been completed. A total of 16 villages that were previously isolated from disasters have been accessed again.

"After the disaster, this area is isolated, there are about 16 villages that are affected. Today, everything can be passed," said Central Aceh Regent Haili Yogadilansir ANTARA, Tuesday, January 20.

The bridge has long been known by the local community with the name Totor Pelang or Pelang Bridge. Its role is vital as a link between regions and the lifeline of the local community's economy.

However, flash floods in late November 2025 had demolished the bridge. The impact was that villages in the area were completely isolated.

Now, he said, Totor Pelang has been re-functionalized so that people's economic activities have begun to recover, the distribution of agricultural products is no longer hampered, access to education, and health services can be reached again.

"Today, people are happy because they can pass through. The economy is starting to move again. This is the hope of the people since the beginning of the post-disaster and today it is beginning to materialize," he said.

The construction of this bridge was carried out in cooperation between the Ministry of PUPR, TNI, local governments, and local communities.

The public is urged to comply with the provisions for using this bridge because it has limited access, namely a maximum load limit of 15-20 tons.

For the construction of a permanent bridge, he said, it would also be carried out immediately as a long-term solution.

"Please take care of this together. If there are vehicles that exceed the tonnage, they must be firm. This is our common road. Community supervision is very important," said Haili Yoga.
