JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has instructed government officials to quickly handle the impact of flooding that has hit a number of areas on the island of Java, while strengthening mitigation measures in disaster-prone areas.
Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi said President Prabowo received reports on floods, landslides, and waterlogging in a number of areas, including in Pati Regency, Kudus, and North Jakarta, during a limited meeting held on Saturday (17/1), amid the peak of high rainfall.
"There, the President also immediately ordered us to all levels to once again, of course, handle as quickly as possible with regard to causing casualties from each incident," said Prasetyo when answering a reporter's question at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Monday, January 19.
