It Turns Out That This Is The Reason Why KPK Employees Who Passed TWK Asked To Postpone Their Inauguration As ASN

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron said he had received a letter of application sent by the anti-corruption commission employees who passed the National Insight Test (TWK) assessment. There is a basic reason why they asked to postpone the inauguration to become ASN.

This submitted letter contains a request to postpone the inauguration of KPK employees as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) which will be held on Tuesday, June 1. "We, the leadership, received a letter requesting the postponement of the inauguration of KPK employees as ASN on June 1," said Ghufron to reporters, Sunday, May 30.

He said the KPK leadership would certainly appreciate the request for a postponement and would conduct a discussion on Monday, May 31. Moreover, this request is a form of solidarity with the 75 KPK employees who did not pass the TWK. "We really appreciate (the request, ed) so we will discuss it tomorrow Monday," he said.

According to Ghufron, the inauguration of KPK employees will indeed be carried out on June 1, or during the momentum of Pancasila's Birthday. The goal is to state that KPK (ASN) employees are Pancasila people. "However, solidarity is also substantial, which is the practice of the principle of unity which we also appreciate. So, we plan to discuss it tomorrow, Monday. We will announce the results later," he said.

Letter to President Jokowi

Previously reported, permanent and non-permanent employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sent an open letter to President Joko Widodo. This letter relates to the recent polemic over the status of civil servants to State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

In the letter, the anti-corruption commission employees asked President Jokowi to order the postponement of the appointment of thousands of employees who passed the National Insight Test (TWK) as ASN.

"Ordered the postponement of our inauguration as ASN until the completion of various problems related to our transition process as ASN," reads the open letter quoted on Sunday, May 30.

In the letter, as KPK employees, both permanent and non-permanent, they have tried to ask the KPK leadership to follow the mandate of the law in the process of transferring employee status. Including, following Government Regulation Number 41 of 2020 and Decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number 70/PUU-XVII/2019 which was read out on 4 May.

"However, our request has not been heeded by the KPK leadership until now. It is evident from the issuance of an order from the KPK leadership to carry out the Inauguration of KPK employees as ASN on June 1, which will come," they said.

In addition, they also asked Firli Bahuri, et al., to postpone the inauguration process until the polemic that occurred could be resolved. However, this request was also ignored by the KPK leadership.

So, in addition to asking Jokowi to order the postponement of the inauguration, KPK employees asked Jokowi to order all employees to become ASN. This request was made because President Jokowi is the highest leader so that he can deliver the order.

"Ordered all permanent employees and non-permanent employees as the KPK's extended family to be able to switch their employment status to ASN as mandated by Law Number 19 of 2019," they said.
