Pangdam Cenderawasih: No "Satan Troops" Sent To Papua, There Is Battalion 315 With The Motto 'Garuda'

JAKARTA - Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Major General TNI Ignatius Yogo Triyono confirmed that no "devil troops" were sent to Papua.

There is no "satanic army", it's just a narrative that is not true on social media because what came were troops from Battalion 315/Garuda.

Battalion 315/Garuda will be stationed in the southern region of Papua, said TNI Major General Ignatius Yogo Triyono as reported by Antara, Saturday, May 29.

It is said, Battalion 315 who are members of the security of vulnerable areas will replace Battalion 756 and it is certain that there will be no additional troops, only replacements.

"Battalion 315 is Garuda's motto, and there are no demonic troops," said TNI Major General Yogo, adding that the battalion will be tasked with securing the Mimika, Asmat and Mappi Regencies.

When asked about the security situation in Papua, the Commander of the Cenderawasih Regional Military Command admitted that it is currently relatively conducive, but members are still asked to be vigilant.

"We will synergize with the National Police, in this case the Papuan Police to secure Papua," said the Military Commander.
