Around 100 houses in Rangkasbitung, Lebak Regency, Banten were flooded with a height of 10 centimeters due to narrow drainage, so that the flow of rainwater did not run smoothly.

"The flood that flooded the residents' houses was in the RT 02 and RT 03 neighborhoods," said the Head of RW 13 Central Village, Lebak Regency, Yanto, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 12.

Permukiman in the area is prone to flooding if heavy rainfall occurs, because the cause of the water channel does not run smoothly due to the narrowing of the drainage.

His party hopes that the local government to overcome the flood needs to be carried out by building ponds to accommodate rainwater.

In addition, it also carried out drainage dredging at the Central so that it flows into the Ciberang River.

"We proposed the construction of a pond several years ago so that residents' houses would not be flooded," said Yanto.

Encup (55), a resident of Sentral Rangkasbitung Lebak Regency, admitted that his house was flooded by high rainfall until the morning.

"We and our neighbors whose houses were flooded had to dredge the water that flooded to a height of 10 centimeters," he said.
