KMP Dharma Kartika Sumenep Route Has Been Stuck for 2 Days, Unable to Sail Due to Bad Weather

SITUBONDO - The Dharma Kartika Crossing Motor Vessel (KMP) is still stuck at the Anchor Port pier, Situbondo Regency, East Java, because it has not been allowed to sail due to bad weather on the Situbondo-Madura crossing since Saturday, January 10.

The supervisor of the Anchor Situbondo Crossing Port Service Unit, East Java Class II Land Transportation Management Office (BPTD), Abdul Hamid said that the delay in the sailing permit was due to the weather conditions in the Sumenep Sea waters were still not friendly.

"According to information from the KSOP in Sumenep Regency, the weather is still not good, high waves and strong winds, so it is prone to sailing the crossing transport with GT-250 such as KMP Dharma Kartika," he said in Situbondo, Antara, Sunday, January 11.

According to Hamid, sailing activities from the Anchor Port to a number of islands in Sumenep Regency, Madura, have been postponed since Saturday due to extreme weather in the form of strong winds accompanied by sea waves reaching around 3.5 meters.

According to the schedule, KMP Dharma Kartika was supposed to depart from the Anchor Port to Kalianget Port and Raas Port, Sumenep Regency, on Saturday at 08.00 WIB. However, until now the ship has not been allowed to sail.

"Not only KMP Dharma Kartika is held back. KMP Wicitra Dharma I is still held back on Sapudi Island because of bad weather and waiting until conditions improve," said Hamid.

Meanwhile, for the crossing of the Anchor route (Situbondo) to the Lembar Port, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Hamid said the KMP Trimas Laila had been allowed to sail on Saturday evening at around 20.00 WIB.

"Last night we received the latest information from the KSOP Lembar regarding the weather, so the ship was given permission to sail," he said.

Until now, there are two ferry boats that are leaning against the Pelabuhan Jangkar pier, namely KMP Dharma Kartika and KMP Munggiyango Hulalo. KMP Munggiyango Hulalo which arrived from Kalianget Port, Sumenep Regency, was allowed to sail because it had a ship size above 1,000 GT.
