Prada's father Lucky detained at Denpom, Kapendam: Examination according to legal mechanism

DENPASAR - Military Regional Command IX/Udayana explained the detention of Pelda Christian Namo, the father of the late Prada Lucky Namo at Denpom IX/1 Kupang related to alleged violations of military discipline and law.

Head of Information Kodam (Kapendam) IX/Udayana, Colonel Inf Widi Rahman, said that currently Pelda Chrestian Namo is undergoing an examination process at Denpom IX/1 Kupang.

"All stages of the examination are carried out in accordance with the legal mechanisms applicable in the environment of the Army of the Indonesian Armed Forces while upholding the principle of presumption of innocence," he said, Thursday, January 8.

Kapendam explained that Pelda Christian Namo was escorted to Denpom IX/1 Kupang to undergo an examination related to alleged violations of military discipline and law, namely the alleged possession of a mistress or living together outside of a valid marriage bond.

The alleged, said Colonel Widi Rahman, has the potential to violate Article 103 of the Military Criminal Code (KUHPM), concerning deliberately disobeying military orders.

In addition, the alleged act violated the Telegram Letter of the TNI Commander Number 398/VII/2009 which stipulates that every soldier is prohibited from having a marital relationship outside of a valid marriage, as well as the Decree of the Chief of Staff of the Army Number Kep/330/IV/2018 regarding Technical Instructions for the Procedure for Termination with Disgrace (PDTH) in the TNI AD environment.

"Kodam IX/Udayana is committed to upholding the law and discipline of soldiers professionally, objectively, and transparently. Any soldier who is proven to have committed a violation will be processed in accordance with applicable laws without discrimination," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

Colonel Inf Widi Rahman also clarified the pick-up of Pelda Christian Namo. Based on information from the Commander of the Military Police Kodam (Danpomdam) IX/Udayana, information regarding the pick-up of Pelda Chrestian Namo by members of Denpom IX/1 Kupang at the port as circulated on social media is not true.

Kapendam Udayana confirmed that the delivery of Pelda Chrestian Namo was not carried out by Denpom IX/1 Kupang. The delivery was carried out by elements of Provos Kodim 1627/Rote Ndao and members of Korem 161/Wira Sakti.

All series of activities are carried out according to the procedures and provisions applicable in the environment of the Army.

"We appeal to the public not to be easily provoked by information that has not been verified for its truth and to fully entrust the process of handling this case to the authorized institutions," concluded Colonel Inf Widi Rahman.
