Vice President Gibran Visits Flood-Affected Areas in Balangan and Banjar

JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming departed for South Kalimantan to directly review the flood-affected areas and ensure that handling and recovery are optimal.

The Vice President and his limited entourage took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, using the Boeing 737-800 TNI AU Presidential Aircraft.

The Vice President's working visit to South Kalimantan is part of the government's commitment to follow up on President Prabowo Subianto's direction for the country to be present in the community, especially in disaster management.

The government emphasizes the importance of synergy between the central and local governments to accelerate the recovery of infrastructure, maintain the smooth distribution of assistance, and restore the social and economic activities of affected residents.

Upon arrival at the Samsoedin Noor Air Force Base, Banjarmasin, the Vice President continued his journey to Tabalong Regency.

From this area, the Vice President is scheduled to move to Juuh Village, Tebing Tinggi District, Balangan Regency, to directly review the evacuation post, public kitchen, and flood-affected locations, including the affected elementary school environment cleaning area.

This working visit aims to ensure that the basic needs of affected people, such as logistics, health services, and temporary housing, can be met properly.

In addition, the Vice President also wants to ensure that the process of cleaning and restoring public facilities, especially educational facilities, runs quickly so that people's activities can return to normal.

Furthermore, the Vice President continued the series of visits to Banjar Regency, specifically in Sungai Tabuk District. In this area, the Vice President is scheduled to review the evacuation post, public kitchen, and flood location to see the conditions of the community and the handling steps that have been carried out by the local government together with related elements.
