JAKARTA - PT Jakarta Propertindo recorded more than 5,500 people visiting and watching the Jakarta Planetarium Star Theater performance during the year-end holiday period, namely from December 22, 2025 to January 3, 2026.

President Director of PT Jakpro Iwan Takwin said that tickets for the Planetarium show are almost always sold out, both through online purchases and directly at the location.

"The figure of more than 5,500 visitors to the Jakarta Planetarium is not just a statistic, but an indicator that educational tourism has a very strong attraction in encouraging quality Jakarta tourism," said Iwan in his statement, Wednesday, January 7.

The high number of visits reflects the positive trend of science education tourism in the community, especially for families and students who take advantage of long holidays for educational activities.

"This surge in visitor numbers is a tangible proof that science, art, and culture education spaces are still the main magnet for Jakarta residents and domestic tourists from the surrounding area," said Iwan.

As the area manager, Jakpro implements an official ticket purchase system through two channels, namely the online platform Loket.com and direct purchase at the official TIM area ticket booth.

Initially, the ticket sales scheme was divided into 75 percent online and 25 percent sold on the spot. However, the high enthusiasm of the public who want to watch the simulation of celestial objects makes visits to the Planetarium crowded.

Many residents ran out of tickets when they wanted to buy directly at the location. In fact, there are parties who take advantage of the momentum as a scalper and sell tickets at a higher price.

Therefore, currently the quota distribution scheme is carried out in a balanced manner, with 50 percent of tickets sold online and 50 percent on the spot at each performance session.

Head of SBU Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakpro, Anya Christina asked prospective visitors to follow the updates provided by the Jakarta Planetarium management through the official communication channel of Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), both regarding the schedule of performances, ticket purchase mechanism, and availability of quotas.

"Information regarding the schedule of performances, ticket purchase mechanisms, and quota availability is updated periodically through the official social media of Taman Ismail Marzuki on the @tim.cikini account, accompanied by written information displayed in various corners of the TIM area and direct explanations from officers in the field," said Anya.

In the future, Jakpro directs the Jakarta Planetarium not only as a space for astronomical performances, but also as an immersive and interactive science and space education center. Updates have been made, ranging from digital astronomy performance and visualization systems to solar system simulations based on current science data.

Jakpro also plans to have an AI Virtual Host, a digital guide based on artificial intelligence that will present astronomical information, the history of the Jakarta Planetarium, and interactive science education content.

The AI Virtual Host is planned to use the representation of the figure of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta as a symbol of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's support for the development of science, technology, and innovation in the capital.
