4-Year-Old Child Becomes Victim of Stray Bullet During a Brawl in Medan Belawan

MEDAN - A four-year-old child in the Medan Belawan District, Medan City, North Sumatra, is suspected of being a stray bullet victim during a brawl in the area. The incident caused the victim to suffer eye injuries and had to receive intensive medical treatment.

The incident began when a brawl broke out in the Belawan area. In the midst of the situation, the victim, who is a local resident, was allegedly hit by stray bullets and suffered serious injuries. The victim was then rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Medan City Government immediately paid attention to the case. Medan Mayor Rico Tri Putra Waas visited the victim directly at the hospital on Wednesday, January 7, while ensuring that the victim received optimal health services.

"My attention is clear, make sure the victim is served as well as possible, treated properly, and receives the best service," said Rico Waas after visiting the victim, quoted by Antara Medan.

Rico Waas said that he had ordered the Medan City Health Office and the hospital to handle the victim's treatment as much as possible. Currently, the victim is still undergoing a medical observation phase to determine the next treatment.

"After a complete observation, the doctor will have his own considerations. We pray that it will go well," said Rico.

Meanwhile, the police stated that the case of the alleged stray bullet had been handled. Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Belawan Port Police, AKP Agus Purnomo, said that the report had been received and the investigation was ongoing.

"The perpetrator has been identified," said Agus.

Police are still investigating the incident to uncover the full chronology of the brawl and ensure that the party responsible for the incident that injured the victim.
