JAKARTA - To maximize the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) launched 1,000 Internet of Things (IoT) smart machines entitled Access for the Nation.

This smart machine will be deployed in areas prone to COVID-19. Where, this machine functions to accelerate the delivery of information and overcome the spread of COVID-19.

"This is also in line with the Ministry of Communication and Information's approach in communicating a consistent narrative about the prevention of COVID-19 to all Indonesians in all corners of the archipelago," said Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate in an online press conference, Monday, May 4.

He said, this machine is prioritized in vulnerable areas. Such as in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, Bandung, Bali and Sidoarjo and several other cities.

A total of 1,000 IoT smart machines will be placed in Alfamart, Alfamidi, Kimia Farma Pharmacy and other stores. According to Johnny, smart machines play a role in reaching Online to Offline (O2O) in areas prone to COVID-19.

"And (smart machines) can drastically reduce interactions between cashiers and other visitors when making purchases at retail stores for daily needs, payment for electricity, purchasing drugs and other shopping activities," explained the Minister of Communication and Information.

It is known that the Smart Access for the Nation technology is embedded with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Each smart machine will have two main features for access and information.

This access feature is intended to help reduce interactions between one individual and another during the COVID-19 outbreak as well as consultation with AI about COVID-19. The information features include Chatbot data from the Covid19.go.id site, the PeduliLindung application and 10 Safe Houses.

"In the future, the matter of development will be used to verify related data such as recipients of donations of staple foods, medicines and other public information," said Johnny.

In addition, still in the implementation of the PSBB, the government tells the public to comply with basic protocols in breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19, namely to stay at home, maintain a safe distance, always wash hands with soap, use masks and maintain personal health and the surrounding environment. .
