Sufficient Evidence, Police Name Yai Mim as Pornography Suspect

MALANG - The Malang City Police officially named the former lecturer at the State Islamic University of Malang, Imam Muslimin alias Yai Mim, as a suspect in the alleged pornography case. The determination was made after investigators held a case based on the report of his neighbor, Nurul Sahara, which went viral on social media in September 2025.

Head of Public Relations of Malang City Police, Yudi Risdiyanto, confirmed the increase in the status of the law in question.

"Yes, it is true, the investigators raised the status of the person concerned (Imam Muslimin or Yai Mim) as a suspect because the evidence and criminal elements were met," Yudi told reporters, Tuesday, January 6.

Yudi added that after the determination of the suspect, investigators will immediately conduct further examinations.

"After the determination of the suspect, through his lawyer, Yai Mim will be called and questioned as a suspect," he said.

This case began with a dispute between Yai Mim and Nurul Sahara which then spread widely on social media and attracted public attention. The dispute resulted in mutual reports to the police.

In the development of the case, Yai Mim reported a number of residents of the Kavling Depag III Atas Housing, Merjosari Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City, for alleged persecution and blasphemy.

Meanwhile, Nurul Sahara reported Yai Mim for alleged pornography, which then led to the determination of the status of a suspect against Yai Mim.
