Prabowo Targets 6,900 Suspension Bridges, Focuses on Access to Education

BOGOR - The government through the Emergency Bridge Task Force (Satgas) targets the construction of 6,900 suspension bridges by 2026. The existence of this bridge is for the community, especially for children's school access throughout the country.

The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said that President Prabowo had been conveyed to President Prabowo during a ministerial retreat at the Garuda Yaksa Training Center, Bojongkoneng Village, Hambalang, Bogor, Tuesday, January 6.

"We will pursue in 2026 which is very urgent, it was reported that there were approximately 6,900 bridges," said Prasetyo on the sidelines of the ministerial retreat.

Within a month of its formation, the task force has completed the construction of 11 suspension bridges, while 50 bridges are still in the process of being worked on.

In total, around 6,900 suspension bridges in various areas can be built by 2026. Prabowo also ordered the bridge task force to realize this target as quickly as possible.

In addition, other achievements of the government's strategic programs were also reported to Prabowo in this volume 2 retreat. One of them is the free nutritious meal program which to date has reached approximately 55 million beneficiaries throughout Indonesia.

He revealed that the government had also built around 19,000 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG). The number is targeted to continue to increase to reach around 35,000 SPPG by 2026, which will serve around 82.9 million beneficiaries.

Another achievement conveyed in the forum was the free health check program which throughout 2025 has reached around 70 million beneficiaries. This program is part of the government's efforts to expand access to basic services for the community.

Prasetyo added that President Prabowo interpreted this Red and White Cabinet retreat as a briefing to all levels, including evaluating programs and sharpening policy directions in 2026. Hopefully, government programs can run as optimally as possible.

On that occasion, President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to the Red and White Cabinet and invited all levels to strengthen their determination to work fully for the benefit of the nation and state.
