JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the revitalization of the Kombongan Market, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Before the revitalization was completed, the Kombongan Market was in the process of being built due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This Kombongan market has been stalled for almost 4-5 years. And today it can be used by the community, the problem is the access to this place which may need to be improved," said Pramono at the location, Tuesday, January 6.

The Kombongan market after revitalization was built on an area of approximately 2,664 square meters with a floor area of 1,888 square meters. This market consists of two floors of buildings. On the ground floor there are 71 kiosks and 50 los and floor 1 there are 50 kiosks.

This market is also equipped with facilities including a mosque, public toilets, disabled toilets, PAM water networks, generator rooms, lactation rooms, loading areas, car and motorcycle parking areas, hydrants, CCTV facilities, and temporary waste disposal areas.

However, it turns out that there are still things that traders complain about. In a dialogue with Pramono, Sarwono, a trader at the Kombongan Market, complained that access to the market was not adequate. Then, access to the road that is crowded with drivers is blocked by the train tracks.

"This market used to be crowded, sir. Because there are many vehicles passing through here, from cars and motorbikes, there is a passage, sir. But now because the train is too long, it is a wide road closure, sir," said Sarwono.

The closure of access across the railway to Pasar Kombongan by PT KAI makes visitors have to turn the road. As a result, Pasar Kombongan is empty of visitors and the turnover of traders decreases.

"I hope the Governor can open access, at least for motor vehicles. So that the momentum for business, we also pass through, we also carry the goods more easily, sir. Because now it's too far away, the shoppers are complaining like that," said Sarwono.

Responding to this, Pramono admitted that he would order his staff to find a solution to the complaints about road access raised by traders. So, the buying and selling activities at the Kombongan Market can be crowded again and the transaction value increases.

"Later I will ask for Pasar Jaya, at least a motor transport that can. Because after all, there is a train that we cannot interfere with. What we can do is how to open access so that all brothers and sisters, the buyers will be able to come and enjoy this market more easily," replied Pramono.
