JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reviewed the Gapura Muka Park in Cakung, East Jakarta. To Pramono, residents living around the park voiced complaints from the presence of a new green open space, such as the lack of lighting.
"I am most happy to see the extraordinary appreciation of the community. Of course, every time I meet the governor, there is always something to ask," said Pramono at the location, Tuesday, January 6.
The park with an area of 1,501.6 square meters was built by the City's Parks and Forests Service (Distamhut) together with the East Jakarta Administration City Government. Its presence is touted as an effort to expand green open spaces as well as public spaces for residents.
However, the enthusiasm of the residents is coupled with the demand for additional facilities. Pramono said there were three things that were most complained about by the community when he went down to the field.
"There are three main requests, namely the provision of Wi-Fi, the construction of toilets, and the addition of lighting. Insyaallah we will fulfill everything. We will also equip this park with CCTV so that the community feels safe and comfortable," said Pramono.
In addition, the location of the park, which is located on the edge of Jalan Raya Bekasi, is also considered prone to children's play. For this reason, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build a pelican crossing as a crossing facility for visitors.
"Later we will make a pelican crossing so that the public can use this park safely and comfortably. In addition, there are plans to plant fruit trees in the area around the park after obtaining permission from the Ministry of Public Works, so that it can add ecological benefits to the environment," said Pramono.
Even so, Pramono emphasized that this park would not be open for 24 hours. He considered supervision to be an important factor, considering that the facilities inside it are not as complete as large parks in Jakarta.
"I don't want a park like this to be monitored well. Unlike parks with complete facilities. In the future, we will also soon inaugurate the Pusaka Flag Park with a jogging track of around 1.2 kilometers as a new alternative for Jakarta residents to exercise, so that it is not only centered on Gelora Bung Karno (GBK)," he said.
Pramono also touched on the direction of Jakarta's public space policy in the future. He said the DKI Provincial Government would maximize every available space to be used as a thematic green open space, including in areas that have not been touched.
"We want Jakarta residents to feel comfortable. We will use the existing spaces not only for greenery, but also for positive activities such as sports, art, and community activities," explained Pramono.
Gapura Muka Cakung Park carries an ecological space concept with the implementation of rain harvesting and rain gardens. In addition to serving as a green space, this park is also designed as an urban space that supports the concept of transit oriented development (TOD) because it is connected to the surrounding public activities and transportation.
