JAKARTA - The Natuna Regency Government (Pemkab) in the Riau Islands Province (Kepri), has permanently dismissed two state civil servants (ASN) who were proven to have committed sexual abuse against minors.
Head of the Human Resources Development and Management Agency (BKPSDM) of Natuna Regency, Muhammad Alim Sanjaya, said the dismissal was carried out after the Natuna Regency Government received a court decision that had the force of law.
"Initially, these two ASN were suspended temporarily because they were still in the legal process," Jaya said in Natuna, Monday, quoted by Antara.
He explained that the two ASN were found guilty and sentenced to more than two years in prison in November 2025.
Based on the rules, he continued, that ASN who are processed by law and have been sentenced to a criminal sentence of less than two years are still in the status of ASN, but are subject to temporary dismissal.
"The ASN can return to work after completing the sentence, and with the approval of the regent, after considering several things. But the ASN who was dismissed was a civil servant (PNS)," he said.
BKPSDM Natuna noted that throughout 2025 there were three ASN who had been dismissed permanently. In addition to the two cases of sexual assault, another ASN was dismissed for a serious disciplinary violation in the form of not going to work for a long time.
Alim said the ASN who was temporarily dismissed still received 50 percent of the basic salary without employee income allowance (TPP) and had the opportunity to return to work.
"Currently, there are still ASN with a temporary termination status," he said.
