JAKARTA - Government spokesman for the handling of COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto revealed, until 12.00 WIB today, the addition of 395 positive corona patients. Thus, the total number of people was positive to 11,587 people.

Additions also occurred for patients who recovered. Today there are 78 patients who have recovered and the total is 1,954 patients who have recovered. Meanwhile, 19 people died. So that the number who died became 864 people.

Then, the cases of people under monitoring (ODP) also increased to 238,178 people. Furthermore, cases of patients under surveillance (PDP) increased by around 890, bringing the total per day to 24,020 people.

Meanwhile, for the examination of saliva (swab) or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) there were 116,861 specimens from 86,061 people. With the number of specimen examinations continuing to increase, the government will use a molecular rapid test machine (TCM).

The initial plan was that the government would bring in about 172 thousand cartridges that were intended for TCM machines from abroad.

"We brought in 1,500 cartridges from our plan to procure 172,000 cartridges in the first phase," said Yuri at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Monday, May 4.

With the arrival of the thousands of cartridges, said Yuri, it is hoped that the process of examining specimens to determine whether they are infected or not can be faster. Thus, treatment measures will be immediately given to positive patients and can prevent the spread of spread.

Thousands of TCM cartridges have begun to be distributed to several areas where they are more in need. This is because there is a lot of accumulation of specimen examinations. So, with these additions, the work will be faster

"We have distributed it to shorten the waiting time for specimen examination, we send them to Sukabumi, Banyumas, Kediri, Lumajang, Palangkaraya, Balikpapan, Kendari, Sumbawa, Mimika, Merauka, Yapen, Sorong, Ternate, Tarakan, and Nunukan," said Yuri. .
