President Prabowo Subianto Celebrates New Year at Batu Hula Sumut Post

TAPANULI SELATAN - President Prabowo Subianto arrived at the Batu Hula Refugee Post, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, ahead of the New Year's Eve, Wednesday night.

Based on Antara's monitoring at the post, President Prabowo arrived at 23.30 WIB wearing a cream-colored safari outfit.

Residents at the evacuation post welcomed the President's arrival with enthusiasm. Hundreds of residents crowded the area around the post to see and greet the President.

His presence was greeted by the cries of children and refugees who had been waiting for his arrival since the afternoon. A warm and lively atmosphere was seen when children and residents greeted Prabowo's name.

"Welcome Mr. Prabowo," the children shouted.

Prabowo seemed to greet and interact with the refugees. Prabowo then toured the post for a moment to see the conditions of the post and the activities of residents who were still in the evacuation.

Prabowo then sat in the chair that had been provided. He was flanked by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin on the left side and Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono on the right side.

The visit was part of the President's agenda to directly monitor the conditions of disaster-affected communities in South Tapanuli as well as to ensure that the handling and service for refugees is running well.

The President's arrival was also accompanied by the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Deputy Commander of the TNI General Tandyo Budi Revita, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution, and Regent of South Tapanuli Gus Irawan Pasaribu.
