Prabowo spends New Year's Eve at Tapsel, tomorrow reviews Aceh Tamiang

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto stayed in South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, on New Year's Eve before continuing his work agenda to Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, the next day.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the President spent the night at Tapsel and spent New Year's Eve with local residents, then continued to review Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Thursday (1/1) morning.

"Tomorrow to Aceh Tamiang. So, the President will stay here, South Tapanuli, spend New Year's Eve with the people, tomorrow morning to Aceh Tamiang," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 31.

Teddy said President Prabowo was scheduled to head to Aceh Tamiang to review the construction of residential houses carried out by BPI Danantara.

According to Teddy, the construction of residential houses instructed directly by President Prabowo is targeted at around 500 to 600 units.

"There are residential houses that were made by Danantara, the President's instructions, tomorrow we will check. It should be 500-600 (residential). Insyaallah, yes, tomorrow we will check," he said.

Previously, Teddy said President Prabowo was scheduled to welcome the new year with residents in South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, by visiting the evacuation location at the Batu Hula Evacuation Post, Batang Toru, Wednesday night.

"New Year's Eve, Mr. President stayed here, South Tapanuli, then yes, maybe dinner with local residents, then greetings there, then there is a movie, a tancap screen with the residents," he said.

Teddy said the activity with the residents was scheduled to take place at dinner time, around 19.00 WIB.

He said that residents affected by the disaster in the Batang Toru area had mostly returned to their respective homes. However, the evacuation location is still operational and functions as a community service center.

At the location, there are still public kitchens and logistics, so residents can come at any time to pick up necessities or just stop by.

"In the evacuation there is still a kitchen, then the logistics there so sometimes people come and go," he said.
