JAKARTA - Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) of the National Police, Police Commissioner General Syahardiantono, said that the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror Police had recorded 51 arrests of terrorism cases throughout 2025.

The data was presented during the End of Year Reflection (RAT) activity held at the Rupatama Building of the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

"The number of arrests throughout 2025 was 51 suspects," said Syahardiantono.

The figure shows a downward trend compared to previous years. In 2023, Densus 88 arrested 147 terrorism suspects, while in 2024 there were 55 suspects.

Syahardiantono added that throughout 2025 there was no act of terrorism in Indonesia. This zero terrorism attack condition has been maintained since 2023 to 2025.

The success, he said, was inseparable from the implementation of the soft approach and hard approach strategies carried out by the Anti-Terror Densus 88.

"The strategy includes early detection, socialization of nationality, preventive strikes, strengthening moderate narratives, empowering former terrorism convicts and their families, as well as national and international collaboration," he explained.

Throughout 2025, Densus 88 also recorded a number of notable successes, including the disclosure of a radicalism network targeting minors through online recruitment.

In this case, the police have identified five terrorism suspects with a recruitment target of 110 children in 23 provinces.

"The disclosure of a network of radicalism in minors through online recruitment involves five suspected terrorists with a target of 110 children in 23 provinces," he said.

In addition, Densus 88 managed to thwart four planned acts of terrorism by the Anshor Daulah group, as well as 20 attack plans involving minors.

"We have succeeded in thwarting four plans for terrorist acts by the Anshor Daulah group and 20 plans for attacks involving minors," he said.

In order to secure Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2025, the police also managed to arrest seven terrorism suspects.

Furthermore, Densus 88 also handled 68 children in 18 provinces who were exposed to the ideology of extreme violence through the Terrorist Content Creator (TCC) group, such as Neo-Nazis and White Supremacy.

"From the results of the investigation, it was found that they had mastered various dangerous weapons with action plans that targeted the school environment as well as their peers," he concluded.
