JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will open a digital donation for people who want to share in the 2026 New Year's Eve celebration.
The donation titled From Jakarta to Indonesia is intended to help handle disasters in Sumatra and can be done through QRIS provided at various new year's eve celebration points.
The Special Staff of the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Social Communication, Chico Hakim, said the DKI Provincial Government is working with Bazna Bazis DKI Jakarta and Bank Jakarta to facilitate public donation access, both digitally and directly at the event location.
"For the public and event visitors who want to share kindness at the end of the year, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through Bazna Bazis DKI Jakarta and Bank Jakarta has made it easier to access donations through the QRIS Dari Jakarta Untuk Indonesia system," said Chico in his statement, Sunday, December 28.
The QRIS donation, he said, can be accessed digitally through the official Instagram account of Bazna Bazis DKI Jakarta, as well as provided physically at the event area on New Year's Eve.
The DKI Provincial Government also ensures that donation facilities remain present in the midst of the crowd celebrating the New Year's Eve. Through the Department of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf), the QR code for donations will be placed at a number of strategic points in the center of citizen activities.
"To ensure that the spirit of sharing is still present in the midst of the excitement of the New Year's Eve, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Parekraf Service has placed a QR code for donations at various strategic points in the center of the event crowd. This is done so that people can donate quickly, safely, and comfortably while enjoying the atmosphere of the city," said Chico.
He added that the donation QR code will be installed throughout the 2026 New Year's Eve event series held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
The locations for installing the QRIS donation include HI Roundabout, Sarinah, the UPK Old City and Fatahillah area, in front of the Jakarta Central Mayor's Inscription Museum, Mal Artha Gading North Jakarta, the West Jakarta Mayor's Office.
Furthermore, the Literacy Park in the South Jakarta Mayor's area, the Velodrome of the East Jakarta Mayor, Monas Week at the Monas UPK, the Jakarta Light Festival Christmas Edition, Immersive Anjungan Graha, Christmas Carol, the Jakarta Music Festival at the Banteng Square, to Untung Java Island, Thousand Islands.
"The real-time amount of donations at each event can be accessed by the Parekraf Office," said Chico.
Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government would not hold a fireworks festival to celebrate New Year's Eve 2026 in Jakarta. In fact, Pramono decided to reduce the number of new year's eve celebration points.
Initially, the DKI Provincial Government prepared 14 entertainment and stage points during the New Year's Eve.
Now, the location has only been decided in 8 points. This was decided by Pramono as a form of empathy from the government and residents of Jakarta to victims of flood and landslide disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, which are still shrouded in grief.
"In terms of the location points that were previously prepared for 14 points, it was finally decided to be 8 points. From the main points that have been a tradition in Jakarta, there are some that have been reduced, including Monas," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, December 22.
The eight points are HI roundabout, Lapangan Banteng Park, Old Town area, and the offices of the mayors of North Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta.
HI roundabout is the main point of the New Year's Eve celebration.
Pramono also banned fireworks on New Year's Eve 2026 in Jakarta for private parties that require permits, such as hotels, shopping centers, and entertainment areas.
"The concentration for the new year, which we originally planned to have fireworks and so on, in the meeting I had decided for the entire Jakarta region, which was held by the government and private parties, we asked for no fireworks," he explained.
