BANDUNG - A total of 60 figures, ministries, and institutions received the 2025 National Defense Appreciation which was held by the Forum of the Editors-in-Chief of Multimedia Indonesia (FPRMI) in Bandung, Monday (22/12/2025). This award highlights the real role of cross-sectors in strengthening the values of national defense, from public policies, regional leadership, to the work of media and community organizations in the midst of increasingly complex non-military threats.
The recipients come from six categories. A number of figures and institutions were selected because they were judged to consistently translate national defense into concrete work, not just symbols or ceremonies.
From the category of ministries and agencies, the appreciation was given to national strategic elements, including the TNI Commander who received the special award of the Golden Pen, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Villages and Regional Development, (Kemendes PDT).
"On behalf of the TNI Commander, we congratulate the regional heads who have received the 2025 National Defense Appreciation Award. This award is a form of recognition for the commitment and leadership of the regions in fostering a sense of national defense in the community," said TNI Deputy Chief of Staff Freddy Ardianzah in his speech which was delivered virtually.
At the regional level, the Maros Regent and the Bone Regent are considered to have successfully linked the development agenda with the strengthening of national character and social resilience of the community.
Meanwhile, from the civil society and press elements, the Chairman of the Red and White APDES and the Press Council received appreciation for their role in maintaining village resilience and public information space.
FPRMI Chairman Bernadus Wilson Lumi emphasized that national defense today is no longer limited to physical defense. The threat of disinformation, radicalism, drugs, and cyber attacks requires the active involvement of all elements of the nation.
"This award is expected to be a motivation for all parties to continue to strengthen national values and the spirit of patriotism in the midst of increasingly complex global dynamics and challenges," added Wilson.
