NATUNA - Four crew members of the Malaysian-flagged JJ 330, who had entered the waters of Natuna, Riau Islands Province, at the end of November 2025, were found not guilty.

Head of the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section of the Ranai Class II Immigration Office, Maguntur Raya, said the four crew members were crew members (ABK). Two ABK are Malaysian and the other two are Bangladeshis.

The total crew of the JJ 330 ship numbered five people, with one of them the captain of the ship. Two crew members have been repatriated to their home country in mid-December 2025 using air transportation, while the other three crew members are still undergoing legal proceedings at the Indonesian Navy Base (Lanal) Ranai.

"Currently, the three crew members are no longer at Immigration, but are handled by Lanal Ranai. The three crew members include two crew members and one captain," said Maguntur, quoted by Antra, Tuesday, December 23.

He explained that Immigration had examined the documents of all the crew members, but no permission to enter Indonesian territory was found, so after being declared innocent, the crew members were sent home.

The suspected violation of the shipping rules against the other crew members is still being investigated by Lanal Ranai.

"Two ABK who are currently at Ranai Naval Base will be witnesses," he said.

Previously, the five foreign crew members of the Malaysian-flagged ship who were arrested by KRI Bung Tomo-357 in the waters of Laut Island, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands, had been placed at the Immigration Detention House (Rudenim) of the Ranai Class II Immigration Office.

The Acting Head of the Ranai Class II Immigration Office, Rommy Manly Mandang, confirmed from Natuna, Thursday, said the five crew members were taken to Rudenim which is located in East Bunguran District on Wednesday night.

He explained that while in Rudenim, the crew would receive basic facilities, such as three meals a day, beds, and be allowed to communicate with their families and embassies by phone.

"They were placed in Rudenim after the handover on Wednesday (26/11) at 20.00 WIB was completed," said Rommy.
