Christmas Day, Odd Even in Jakarta 25-26 December Cancelled

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office (Dishub) canceled the odd-even motor vehicle system in Jakarta on Thursday and Friday, December 25-26, 2025.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Police, Syafrin Liputo, said that the odd-even ban in the two days was because it coincided with the Christmas Day and public holiday.

"In connection with Christmas Day 2025, the implementation of Odd Even in Jakarta will be abolished on December 25-26, 2025," said Syafrin in his statement, Monday, December 22.

Syafrin said that the determination of this holiday was based on the Joint Decree Number 933, 1, and 3 of 2025 regarding Changes to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform Number 1017 of 2024, Number 2 of 2024, Number 2 of 2024 regarding National Holidays and Joint Holidays in 2025.

Then, in Article 3 Paragraph (3) of Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2019, it is stated that traffic restrictions with odd-even systems are not applied on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays as determined by presidential decree.

"Motorists are urged to always comply with existing traffic signs, prioritize safety on the road and follow the instructions of officers in the field," he said.

It is known that the odd-even system of Jakarta is applied on 25 roads on Monday to Friday which are divided into two sessions, where the first session is applied from 06.00 WIB to 10.00 WIB. While the second session is applied from 16.00 WIB to 21.00 WIB.

Drivers who violate the odd-even rules will be subject to a maximum fine of Rp. 500,000 in accordance with Article 287 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transport.
