Call Bima Arya Not Having Polite Ethics, Rizieq Shihab: Disappointed, My Illness Is Turned Into A Political Stage

JAKARTA - The defendant in the case of the UMMI Hospital swab test, Rizieq Shihab, emphasized that he was disappointed with the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya. This is because Rizieq thought that his illness was actually used as a political stage.

The statement started when Rizieq explained about the agreement between the MER-C Team, the UMMI Hospital and Bima Arya regarding the implementation of the PCR swab.

However, suddenly Rizieq admitted that he was surprised by Bima Arya's action in reporting the UMMI Hospital to the police after an agreement was made to carry out a swab test.

"But I was surprised that after the meeting that night at 9 o'clock there was a Mayor's meeting at 10 pm with the Bogor City Task Force and Police Chief to report the UMMI Hospital to the police and it was done after midnight," Rizieq said in a trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday 27. May.

At that time, Rizieq admitted that he was disappointed. In fact, he said Bima Arya had no ethics, manners, and could be trusted.

"That is one of the reasons why I do not believe that his team checks my PCR. I believe that if he has good manners I would like to have a PCR test but if his behavior is like this. Maybe the results will be passed everywhere," he said.

Rizieq was even more annoyed by this act. He considered that his illness was used as a political stage for Bima Arya. In fact, as a leader, you should not do that.

"So I mean if he wants to talk about it first. Don't hurt me, my suffering is used as a consumption for his political stage. This is what I don't accept," he said.

For information, in this case Rizieq Shihab was sentenced to 10 months in prison. Because, he was accused of spreading fake news or hoaxes that caused chaos. This false news is related to his health condition which was confirmed positive for COVID-19 while at UMMI Hospital in Bogor, West Java.

Rizieq Shihab was charged with Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2), Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations and / or Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 years 1984 concerning Communicable Disease Outbreaks and / or Article 216 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
