Police Check 20 Witnesses of the Burning Case in Kalibata

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto said that his party had examined 20 witnesses in the incident of burning shops and stalls of traders in front of the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) Park, Pancoran, South Jakarta on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

As we know, the act of burning occurred after two debt collectors or eagle eyes (Matel) with the initials MET and NAT were killed by six members of the National Police who were on duty at the Police Headquarters (Yanma).

"Regarding the development of the situation on the ground, investigators from Krimum and the South Jakarta Metro Police have investigated 20 witnesses. 20 witnesses from kiosk victims, (owners) of motorcycles, and cars that were victims of arson, became their victims," Budi told the media at the Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

In the burning incident, the police estimated the losses to reach IDR 1.2 billion.

Budi emphasized that his party would conduct a search and development of witnesses and evidence.

Budi revealed that the perpetrators are now under police surveillance.

"It is under the supervision of the investigators," he said.

"And will make forced efforts against the perpetrators who carried out the burning," he concluded.
