Man in Mataram Raped High School Student Broken Home Dozens of Times

MATARAM - A man from the city of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, with the initials WY (25) was revealed to have raped a 15-year-old high school student who admitted to being in a "broken home" environment.

Head of Subnit I Women and Children Protection of the Mataram Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Aiptu Sri Rahayu, said that his party followed up on this case by arresting the alleged perpetrator.

"We have arrested the perpetrator and determined the suspect for the alleged crime of sexual intercourse with a minor," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 16.

The police are handling this case following the report of the victim's uncle. The chronology of the incident was reported to the police after the victim told his uncle through a written message on the WhatsApp application.

The victim admitted that he had been subjected to violence by the suspect, who was his lover. Based on the complaint, the reporter had looked for the victim at the suspect's house in the Cakranegara area, Mataram City.

Because they did not find the victim, the reporter made a missing person report to the Sandubaya Police. Based on the report, the police managed to find the victim with the suspect at a cafe.

"As a result of coordination with the police, we immediately followed up on this issue by asking for the victim's information and conducting a visum et repertum at the Bhayangkara Hospital," he said.

From the results of the examination, it was revealed that the victim had been raped 28 times since September 2025. The suspect's actions were carried out after four months of having a romantic relationship with the victim.

"The last one was Friday (December 12) yesterday," he said.

The suspect admitted that the love affair with the victim, which had been going on since June 2025, began with an introduction through the TikTok application.

"To the suspect, at first the victim said he was uncomfortable at home because there was a family problem," he said.

The suspect then invited the victim to live at his house with the suspect's parents and grandmother. The suspect's family also gave advice for the victim to go home.

"He went home, but he came back to live with the suspect. The suspect's family said the reason for coming back was because he often received violence from his parents. This victim also did not go to school," he said.

However, the police obtained different information from the victim's examination. To the police, the victim admitted that there was no problem with his family, but the violence was obtained from the suspect.

"This is what we are still investigating through psychological tests on the victims," he said.

However, from the results of the title of the case, it was stated that the act of rape by the suspect against the victim who is still in the category of children has been fulfilled.

"That is the basis for us to determine that the person concerned is a suspect," he said.

The police named WY as a suspect by applying Article 81 paragraph (1) and (2) in conjunction with Article 76D of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2014 concerning changes to Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection jo. Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 17 of 2016 concerning the Determination of Perppu No. 1 of 2002 concerning the second amendment to Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection into Law.
