JAKARTA - The Search And Rescue (SAR) team is searching for 10 crew members (ABK) of the KM Putri Lancar Samudera B GT-14 who went missing after the fishing boat was hit by waves in the Java Sea, Indramayu Regency, West Java.
Head of the Bandung SAR Office Ade Dian Permana said the search operation was carried out by deploying marine elements and SAR personnel to speed up the discovery of the victim who was still missing.
The maritime accident, he said, occurred when the KM Putri Lancar Samudera B GT-14 was sailing from Eretan Port to a fishing area in the Java Sea.
He explained that the ship was carrying 17 crew members, but on the way it was hit by a big wave so that the ship sank and all the crew members fell into the sea.
"The search efforts were carried out since the report of the incident was received by deploying the Cirebon SAR Post Rescue Team and the Bandung 03 Rigid Buoyancy Boat (RBB)," he said.
In addition, he continued, KN SAR Setyaki 202 was dispatched to the last known position (LKP) to support SAR operations at sea.
According to him, the initial rescue efforts were carried out by ships that passed around the scene and managed to save a number of crew members.
Ade said that previously there were two ABK who were successfully evacuated by KN Surya Makmur in a safe condition.
"30 minutes later, the same ship found the other two crew members and evacuated the victims to a safe place," he said.
After the continued evacuation process, he said, the Cumi Rahayu Jaya ship managed to find three ABK of the KM Putri Lancar Samudera in a safe state.
"On Tuesday morning, another ABK was rescued by the Rahayu Jaya KM, so a total of eight ABK were found," he said.

Ade said that the other 10 crew members who have not been found on behalf of Lancam, Agus, Akim, Casim, Soglo, Iyus, Daud, Tasman, Darkum, and Eri.
