Short Diplomacy, Congested Results: This Is Prabowo's Achievement Of Visits To Pakistan And Russia

JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya explained the diplomatic achievements of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during his brief visit to Pakistan and Russia on December 8, 2025.

The visit resulted in seven new collaborations in the health, agriculture, trade, economy, research, science and technology sectors.

"After visiting the Aceh-Birun Regency and staying in Banda Aceh a few days ago, today the President has finished carrying out visits in Pakistan and Russia," Teddy said in a written statement in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, December 12.

In Islamabad, President Prabowo was greeted by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan before holding a number of strategic meetings. From the series of meetings, said Teddy, there were seven new agreements that covered various fields, including medical education.

One of the President's main focuses is accelerating the increase in the number of doctors in Indonesia. The Ministry of Health noted a shortage of around 150,000 general practitioners, specialists, and dentists.

"For that, he wants to immediately create dozens of new medical faculties. The target is that each province has a medical faculty," said Teddy. Pakistan, he continued, expressed its commitment to support these efforts.

From Pakistan, President Prabowo continued his trip to Russia. In Moscow, he held a three-hour meeting with President Vladimir Putin. Both agreed to strengthen cooperation in agriculture, research, technology, and technology transfers.

Teddy said there were a number of important agreements that became a special concern for the two heads of state, although details had not been submitted.

"There are several very important agreements that both leaders know about," he said.

After completing the entire overseas agenda, President Prabowo immediately returned to the country on a flight for about 13 hours. Upon arrival in Indonesia, he is scheduled to leave for Aceh for the third time, as well as continue his visit to North Sumatra and West Sumatra in order to see firsthand post-disaster recovery.
