TERNATE - The Ternate Basarnas Office, North Maluku, deployed personnel to search for a resident of Bosso Village, South Halmahera Regency, who was reported missing while shooting fish in the waters of Sali Island on Monday, December 8.
Kasubsie Operasi dan Siaga Basarnas Ternate, Ferdinando Jofandri, mengatakan pada Selasa, 9 Desember, pihaknya langsung melakukan koordinasi setelah menerima laporan resmi dari masyarakat.
"After receiving a report from the Head of Kaireu Village, the South Halmahera SAR Alert Unit moved quickly to coordinate with potential SAR in the local area and dispatched a team to conduct searches around the scene," said Ferdinando in Ternate, Antara, Tuesday, December 9.
The victim is known as Derianto Cin (24). Until now, the South Halmahera SAR Alert Unit and other SAR elements are still searching.
Information on the disappearance of the victim was first conveyed by the Head of Kaireu Village after residents were worried because Derianto did not return home.
Based on residents' information, Derianto went to shoot fish on Monday, December 8, at around 17.00 WIT. However, until the evening he has not returned as usual.
Residents of Bosso Village and Kaireu Village had conducted an independent search. During the search, they found arrows belonging to the victim floating around the location. The findings confirm the suspicion that the victim was in a dangerous condition, so residents reported to SAR for further treatment.
On Tuesday, December 9, at 07.10 WIT, the South Halmahera SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team was dispatched to Kaireu Village. Upon arrival at the location, the team continued their journey by boat to the search point in the waters of Sali Island.
