JAKARTA - Artificial intelligence technology, games, and AR/VR are used as new tools to maintain tradition in the BUDAYA GO! 2025 event which peaked Appreciation Night at the Bloc Jakarta Post, Sunday (7/12). The event opens in silence for disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, marking the end of a cultural-based digital innovation competition.
The BUDAYA GO! 2025 competition was attended by 627 teams from 33 provinces. From the selection, 20 finalists were selected, 10 students/Student category teams each and 10 professional categories teams. During four days in Jakarta, they attended exhibitions of works, judging, and product demonstrations in front of the jury.
Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha emphasized that technology does not need to be contested with tradition. "Artificial Intelligent (AI) should not replace the role of human and cultural observers, but AI must help culturalists preserve and develop culture," he said. He added that the work of the participants should not stop after the competition. The government, said Giring, is ready to facilitate that the digital products of the finalists are connected to the creative industry, museums, and educational institutions.
