Government Responsibility Of All Costs Of Road Repair Malalak

AGAM - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo emphasized that the central government will bear all costs of repairing roads and bridges that were cut off due to natural disasters in Malalak District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra).

"Yes, everything will be borne by the central government, everything will be borne by Mr. President Prabowo Subianto," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo in Agam Regency, Monday, December 8.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Public Works when directly visiting residential areas affected by the disaster in Jorong Toboh, Nagari Malalak Timur, Malalak District, Agam Regency.

During the visit, the Minister of Public Works together with Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the House of Representatives Andre Rosiade and Deputy Governor of West Sumatra Vasko Ruseimy directly checked the impact of village damage to roads and bridges that were cut off due to being hit by flash floods.

Dody said President Prabowo had emphasized his commitment to restore and repair disaster-affected areas, especially in the provinces of Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra which were ravaged by flash floods and landslides.

"This is in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's commitment, our natural disaster problem must be fully supported so that people can return to their original life. In fact, if possible, it would be better," he said.

Dody said the Ministry of Public Works would first map the impact of infrastructure damage such as damaged roads and bridges. If the main route can still be used, it will be done. However, if the conditions are not possible, the Ministry of Public Works together with local governments are forced to create a new route.

"If it can't be recovered, it will be forced to create a new route. Later we will send a team to map it out," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the House of Representatives Andre Rosiade said he had discussed with the Minister of Public Works and sought to accelerate the recovery of cut roads and bridges.

"God willing, it will be a year. It was predicted a year," said Andre.

Andre ensured that the presence of the Minister of Public Works in Malalak District or one of the locations affected by the disaster was a representation of the government not to remain silent in helping people affected by the disaster.

"So obviously, the state budget will enter on the basis of President Prabowo Subianto's orders," he said.
