Pramono: The Determination Of The 2026 Jakarta UMP Is Not Final, Workers And Entrepreneurs Are Still Crossing

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has yet to determine and announce the increase in the Jakarta provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2026.

Pramono said the discussion was almost final, but the decision could not be taken because the employers' association and trade unions had not agreed in determining the UMP next year.

"It's not final yet, because there is still a dispute between the group of workers and the group of entrepreneurs," said Pramono in Muara Baru, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Monday, December 8.

Pramono admitted that the dynamics between labor groups and employers made the process of determining need additional time. Pramono said that the difference in attitude of the two parties was still a crucial point that the government had to bridge.

According to Pramono, the DKI Provincial Government still accommodates both parties' views before hitting the final UMP figures. He emphasized that this time the process was still following the mechanism of the wage council and applicable rules so that decisions could be accepted proportionally.

"So the discussion is almost final, and there is indeed a range, and this week we will close it specifically to be finalized immediately," said Pramono.

He ensured that the DKI Provincial Government would take a neutral position. The decision of the 2026 UMP later, said Pramono, was taken based on objective considerations and taking into account the condition of the Jakarta economy.

"The Jakarta government must be a fair referee, and we will decide fairly," he said.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi), Syaripudin, said that the local government had discussed the UMP, although the latest wage regulations from the central government for 2026 had not yet been issued.

"The determination of the UMP and UMSP is not only a matter of numbers, but about building a common understanding of business continuity and improving the welfare of workers. Therefore, every process and input from stakeholders means a lot," Syaripudin told reporters, Thursday, December 4.

The final wage regulation, namely the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2024, only regulates the determination of the minimum wage for 2025. This condition makes the region unable to move to the stage of determining the numbers for the following year.

"Meski demikian, Pemprov DKI Jakarta melalui Disnakertransgi tetap menjalankan berbagai langkah persiapan agar proses penetapan pembayaran nanti berjalan tepat waktu serta responsif terhadap kondisi pekerja dan dinamis ekonomi," sebutnya.
