JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is still examining the application of actor Ammar Zoni to obtain justice collaborator (JC) status in a narcotics crime case which is currently being tried at the Central Jakarta District Court.

Deputy Chairperson of LPSK, Sri Suparyati, said the request still needed further investigation before his institution could make a decision.

"Currently, the petition is still in the process of being investigated and requires further investigation regarding the petition of the perpetrator witness," Sri said in a written statement, Antara, Friday, December 5.

Sri explained that the standard of assessment for witness perpetrators was different from ordinary defendants. In the JC mechanism, the role of applicants must have strategic value that can help law enforcers dismantle the structure of crime more widely.

"As we all know, the witness perpetrator must at least know and be able to uncover the real crime. So the quality of the information must be greater," he said.

He emphasized that the expected contribution was not just recognition, but was able to open transaction channels, distribution networks, and actors who acted as controllers in narcotics syndicates.

"Regarding narcotics cases, the main indicator is the extent to which applicants can help uncover a larger network, not just evidence of a crime in court," he said.

LPSK received a JC submission from Ammar Zoni on November 26, 2025, which was submitted through their attorneys and families.

"The request is related to the application for status as Justice Collaborator in a narcotics crime case which is currently being tried at the Central Jakarta District Court," said Sri.

Ammar Zoni was charged with attempted or conspiracy to offer, sell, buy, accept, intermediate, exchange, or hand over narcotics class I instead of plants weighing more than five grams. He became one of the six defendants in the case.
