The joint SAR team managed to find a fishing boat that was reported to have experienced engine failure in the waters of Seluma, Bengkulu, and evacuated the entire crew in a safe condition.

"We are grateful that the joint SAR team was able to find all the POBs in a safe condition. Solid coordination between agencies is the key to the success of this SAR operation," said Head of the Bengkulu SAR Office Muslikun Sodik in Bengkulu, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 30.

Four people on board (PERSON on board/POB) were found safe when the search operation for the second day continued on Sunday morning, November 30, 2025.

A joint team consisting of Basarnas, TNI AL, Polairud, and elements of the potential SAR conducted a search with an area of 32 nautical miles (NM). At around 11.50 WIB, the fishing boat was found at a distance of about 13.2 nautical miles from KN 213 Bengkulu Pier.

After being found, four crew members were immediately evacuated to the mainland, while the ship was pulled to the nearest dock. At 14:50 WIB, KN SAR 213 Bengkulu and the fishing boat had docked at Baai Island Port, Bengkulu.

"With the discovery of all the victims, the SAR operation is officially declared complete and closed," he said.

Previously, the Bengkulu SAR Office received reports of a fishing boat experiencing engine failure in Seluma waters on Saturday (29/11) night. Reports say four people on board were adrift due to damage to the gearbox while fishing.

As a result of the damage, the ship was unable to travel and was washed away. Responding to the report, at 19.00 WIB the Bengkulu Basarnas dispatched a joint rescue team with the KN 213 crew to the scene.

Namun saat tiba di lokasi, tim tidak menemukan keberadaan kapal maupun korban. Pencarian kemudian diperluas dan dikoordinasikan dengan kapal-kapal yang melintas.

Hingga pukul 23.00 WIB, upaya pencarian ke arah selatan belum membuahkan hasil. Operasi dilanjutkan kembali pada Minggu, 30 November 2025, mulai pukul 07.00 WIB.

As of 23.00 WIB, the search to the south has not yielded results. The operation resumed on Sunday, November 30, 2025, starting at 07.00 WIB.
