Prabowo EMPHASIZED That The Government Has Moved Quickly Since The Beginning Of The Sumatra Disaster

President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the government had reacted and moved quickly in sending aid since the beginning of the flash floods and landslides that occurred in three provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.

When delivering his remarks at the Peak of the Commemoration of National Teacher's Day (HGN) 2025, President Prabowo paid attention to victims affected by natural disasters, and asked for prayers for victims to be relieved of their sufferings.

"At this time, we feel that there are our brothers and sisters who have experienced grief, disasters due to natural disasters that have occurred in several places in our archipelago, the last in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. Of course, we pray that they will always be protected by the Almighty, alleviate their grief and suffering," Prabowo said at the Jakarta Arena Indonesia, Friday, confiscated by Antara.

The President explained that the government had sent aid to victims by land and air.

However, the condition of the field affected by the disaster, said Prabowo, was very heavy because many access had been cut off, causing it to be difficult for helicopters and planes to land.

"The government is moving fast. From the first days we have reacted, we have sent assistance and reactions via land and air. But indeed the conditions are very heavy, many have been cut off, the weather is still not possible, sometimes our helicopters and planes are difficult to land," said the President.

The government has also dispatched three Hercules C-130 aircraft and an A-400 aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, on Friday morning, to send aid.

The President explained that assistance this Friday is not the first time, and assistance will also continue to be sent according to the needs in the field.

The assistance sent this Friday morning has been adjusted to the main needs requested by each regional head, including tents, rubber boats, electric generators, communication tools and signal boosters, a team of doctors and medicines as well as various ready-to-eat foods, blankets, and other necessities.
