JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) conveyed the development of hydrometeorological disaster conditions in Aceh Province as of today. Currently, a number of areas in Aceh are still flooded due to rain with moderate to heavy intensity at the beginning of the fourth week of November 2025.
Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said, currently there are five people who died and nine people are still missing due to floods and landslides in Bener Meriah Regency.
Then, one person was recorded dead and two people were still lost due to landslides in Gayo Lues.
"So for Aceh Province, a total of six people died and eleven other victims were still missing," Abdul Muhari was quoted as saying in a video statement, Friday, November 28.
Abdul Muhari said the verification process related to affected victims was still ongoing because some areas still had difficulty submitting reports due to the interruption of the communication network.
"For the victim's data, we are still communicating with local governments. There are several local governments that still have difficulty reporting because communication networks are still disrupted," said Abdul Muhari.
The current flood conditions in Aceh show that the impact is still widespread in a number of areas. In Lhokseumawe City, the water has not subsided. West Aceh experienced an increase in water level so that many access roads were closed. In North Aceh, cellular communication services were cut off, electricity went out, and government offices were completely paralyzed.
In East Aceh, flooding has not subsided due to river overflows and heavy rains. Meanwhile, Aceh Singkil is still submerged with a water level of 50 100 centimeters. Disaster management in several villages is hampered by access that is blocked by damaged roads, submerged, or buried by landslides. Bireuen also reported the addition of affected areas to 8 sub-districts and 12 villages.
Abdul Muhari added that the recovery of communication networks is needed to facilitate data collection and ensure that affected families can communicate with each other.
"The government hopes that the telecommunications provider can immediately restore access to communication in affected areas. So that people who have not been able to contact there, their relatives at the affected locations, can immediately recover communication and be able to return to contact and know the status and conditions of the families who are in the affected areas," he said.
BNPB also opened a complaint channel for residents who had difficulty contacting their families through the main BNPB post in Tarutung with number 0811-6164-5500. Each report that comes in will be forwarded to BNPB personnel in each affected district and city for field checks.
