National Police Chief Affirms Gender Equality Commitment At UN Women HeForShe

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized the commitment of the institution he leads in supporting gender equality at the National Police Award In Support For UN Women'HeForShe'Movement 2025 in Jakarta.

Reported by ANTARA, the National Police Chief stated that female police officers (Polwan) have the same opportunity as male police officers (Polki) in carrying out their duties as personnel in the Bhayangkara Corps.

"Today's activities are a form of our strong commitment, the Polri institution, to continue to support gender equality. In particular, it is space for all Polwan to provide color and place Polwan on par with the role of colleagues from Polki," said Sigit, Thursday, November 27.

Commitment to gender equality, said Sigit, is indeed needed for collaboration, synergy and support from all parties.

The National Police Chief also mentioned that this commitment is a spirit to continue to improve the excellent service from the National Police to the community.

According to Sigit, Polwan is the spearhead of the National Police in providing the best service to the community, especially vulnerable groups, women, and children.

"At the same time, this is also part of us to continue to be able to provide the best service to the community, vulnerable groups, which of course need special services, and can only be done by Polwan," said Sigit.

The National Police Chief has again emphasized his commitment to continue to support gender equality in the National Police institution.

With this, the National Police Chief asked all ranks of the regional police chief to commit to the issue of equality and service improvement.

"Hopefully we, the National Police institution, can continue our commitment, to support gender equality in the National Police Institution. Also provide the best service, services that can continue to be improved. To provide protection for the community, women, children and vulnerable groups who need special attention, special services and this is of course the determination of our institution," explained Sigit.
