MAKASSAR - Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections (Menko Kumham Imipas) Yusril Ihza Mahendra, welcomes people who are dissatisfied regarding KUHAP to conduct a judicial review to the Constitutional Court.

Coordinating Minister Yusril said the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) had been ratified by the DPR RI some time ago and is currently in the process of being invited.

"For those who are dissatisfied with the norms in the Criminal Procedure Code, they can submit a judicial review to the Constitutional Court," he said after giving a Public Lecture at the Al Jibra Hall of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 24.

He explained that the government will temporarily see. This means that if there are weaknesses from the Criminal Procedure Code, then of course these weaknesses can be improved.

The government must draw up a number of government regulations to implement the Criminal Procedure Code and there also needs to be a National Police Chief Regulation, Attorney General Regulation to implement it.

The Coordinating Minister also assessed that he had not seen any urgent reasons for conducting a Perppu for the Criminal Procedure Code because the law had only been passed to this day and is in the process of being enacted.

"And I think it's better to run it first, unless the President has other opinions," he explained.

"Meanwhile, if I argue that what is already there is carried out first and if there are shortcomings, we can fix it. Both with amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code itself and through judicial reviews to the Constitutional Court," he said.

According to him, it certainly takes time to implement it, but articles that must be implemented without PP can indeed be implemented immediately.

"Unless it explicitly states that further provisions must be regulated by Government Regulations, it may be delayed in implementation," he said.
