BANDUNG - The implementation of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) proportionally in West Java was extended until May 31.
The extension is contained in the Decree of the Governor (Kepgub) of West Java Number: 443/Kep.263-Hukham/2021 concerning the Eighth Extension of Proportional Implementation of PSBB in West Java Province. The decree was signed by Governor Jabar Ridwan Kamil on Monday, May 17.
Chairman of the Daily Task Force (Task Force) on Handling COVID-19 Jabar Daud Achmad in Bandung, Sunday, said the decision is a follow-up to The Minister of Home Affairs Instruction No. 11 of 2021 on The Extension of Micro-Based PPKM and Optimizing COVID-19 Handling Posts at the Village and Village Level to Control the Spread of COVID-19.
"The implementation of PSBB proportionally is adjusted to the vigilance of the district, village, and wards. All parties, especially the community, should be involved in COVID-19 control," Daud said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 23.
Daud stressed that community discipline in implementing health protocols is very important in controlling the spread of COVID-19 during PSBB proportionally. Much scientific evidence suggests the implementation of health protocols effectively prevents the transmission of COVID-19.
"The community is obliged to apply the provisions of PSBB proportionally. The public must consistently implement health protocols to suppress the transmission of COVID-19. Because the community and the government are the vanguards of dealing with the pandemic," he said.
If health protocols are implemented strictly, Daud believes that COVID-19 control and economic recovery in West Java can run simultaneously.

David asked the public to pay attention to the health condition before doing activities outside the house, such as routinely checking body temperature. If the body temperature is high and the body condition is not good, people should check their health and stay at home.
"Let's care for yourself by routinely checking the condition of the body. That way, we will also protect families, people, and communities in our neighborhood," he said.
