In Accordance With The Rules, 179 Illegal Buildings On The West Karawang Interchange Were Demolished

The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Karawang Regency, West Java will dismantle 179 illegal buildings and street vendors who stand along the Interchange or access to the West Karawang Toll Gate.

"We will immediately carry out control (unloading) of illegal buildings and street vendors (street vendors) as an effort to organize the city," said Head of Karawang Satpol PP Basuki Rachmat, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 19.

He conveyed, in accordance with the data collection, there were 179 illegal buildings and street vendors that stood along the access to the West Karawang Toll Gate, starting from the Citarum Bridge to the West Karawang Toll Gate.

According to him, hundreds of illegal building owners and street vendors have been notified of the control plan, namely by providing the First Warning Letter, so that they can demolish their own buildings themselves.

Hundreds of illegal buildings and street vendors along the West Karawang Interchange road will be demolished because they occupy a space belonging to the road, and violate the provisions of Article 32 of Regional Regulation Number 10 of 2020 concerning the prohibition of building in buildings belonging to roads, green lanes, parks, and public facilities.

In addition, the activities of street vendors in unspecified locations also violate Article 28 paragraph (1) letter a of the Karawang Regional Regulation Number 10 of 2020

In the process of distributing the First Warning Letter, there were residents who questioned the control.

The officer then gave an explanation according to the principle of controlling Article 43, this enforcement was carried out for the sake of safety and mutual order.

The First Warning Letter is given as an initial administrative sanction, in accordance with Article 52 and Article 54, by giving the building owner the opportunity to carry out self-dismantling before further action is implemented.

Basuki said, if within the stipulated time limit there is no independent demolition, then the Karawang Satpol PP together with the West Java Provincial Satpol PP will carry out control and demolition without compromise.

This step is part of efforts to maintain public order, public peace, and K3, so that the West Karawang strategic area remains orderly, safe, and comfortable for all road users.
