JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, responded to the statement by the National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 which stated that one in five suspects recruiting children into terrorist groups planned to carry out a terror attack on the DPR. According to Habiburokhman, the safety of the DPR is currently quite optimal.

"What is clear is that the aspect of law enforcement, one aspect is called a guard, what is security. Yes, in my opinion, the security aspect is quite maximal in this DPR. Like me, sometimes I come here, I see that someone is guarding, checking our car, that includes the car. members are checked. In my opinion, it has been quite strict entry to the DPR," said Habiburokhman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 19.

"There is a detection of what it is called, for metal, there is a detector like that, I think it's good," he added.

Then there is a matter of legal issues for children, said Habiburokhman, there are some specific anticipations, and there is a specific mechanism for regulating children's problems.

"Of course we ask the police to comply with this," he said.

Previously, the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police revealed that one of the five suspected child recruiters in the terrorism network had planned an attack on the DPR Building.

The plan was detected by Densus 88 in the process of being investigated. Thus, arrests must be made immediately to prevent attacks.

"And lastly we found yesterday, one of the perpetrators also wanted to take action at the DPR RI Building. Now, this is what law enforcement must be carried out immediately," said Densus 88 spokesman AKBP Mayndra Eka Wardhana, at a press conference at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 18.

Mayndra did not explain in detail who the suspect was, but he emphasized that his party had arrested five suspects aged adults during the period from December 2024 to November 17, 2025.
