Allegations Of Kasatgas Rossa Purbo Obstructing Bobby Nasution's Legal Process Will Be Investigated By The KPK Council

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board (Dewas) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the report against one of the heads of the investigation task force (kasatgas), Rossa Purbo Bekti, will be followed up.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the KPK Council Gusrizal when asked about the report submitted by the Indonesian Student Activist Coalition (WE) on Monday, November 17.

They reported Rossa for allegedly hampering the legal process against North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution in the road project corruption case that ensnared his subordinates, Typhoon Obaja Putra Ginting or Typhoon Ginting as the former Head of PUPR Office of North Sumatra Province.

"It's true (it will be investigated, ed)," said Gusrizal to reporters, November 18.

Gusrizal said the deepening would begin with the clarification process first. "We are waiting for the report and after that we ask for clarification, whether the report is true," he said.

From there, the KPK Council called Rossa. "We'll see the results of the clarification," said Gusrizal.

We previously reported Rossa because he was suspected of hampering the investigation into the involvement of the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This condition is considered to make the anti-corruption commission's independence then questionable.

"There are allegations that related to this case, one of the Head of the KPK Task Force allegedly on behalf of AKBP Rossa Purba Bekti," Yusril told reporters at the ACLC building or the KPK Council office, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta.

"Therefore, we, the Indonesian Student Activist Coalition, today provide information and reports," he continued.

"WE, still said Yusril, are demanding the KPK to conduct an evaluation. And a total internal audit," he said.

According to Yusril, it is appropriate for the KPK Council to examine Rossa. This is because there are many indications of Bobby's involvement as the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the bribery case of a road project in North Sumatra.

Similarly, Usman as our Secretary also mentioned that Bobby should be examined. "But to this day what KPK friends have done today has not summoned Bobby Nasution himself," he said at the same location.

"So today we are present in front of the KPK council and at the same time submit a report against one of the KPK's task forces to question the independence of the KPK," he continued.
