Karawang Police Name 4 Suspects Of Beating Children With Disabilities

JAKARTA - The Karawang Resort Police arrested and named four suspects in the case of beating children with disabilities, resulting in the death of the victim in the Cilamaya Wetan District, Karawang Regency, West Java.

"The incident that took the life of a disabled person with the initials R (15) occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (5/11)," said Karawang Police Chief AKBPFiki Novian Ardiansyah when releasing the disclosure of the case at the Karawang Police Headquarters, Monday.

The four perpetrators arrested each had the initials HW (37), a resident of Tegalwaru Village; EF (29), a resident of Tegalsari Village; NK (42), a resident of Mekarmaya Village; and TF (31), a resident of South Cikarang, Bekasi Regency.

The beating occurred when a witness saw victim R approaching the house of two other witnesses. The witness then approached and asked about the purpose of the victim's arrival.

However, the victim did not give any response or answer at all. Feeling suspicious, the witness then called the two homeowners.

After leaving, the two men stated that they did not recognize victim R. They and the first witness repeatedly tried to communicate, but the victim remained silent.

This situation attracted the attention of a number of local residents who then gathered near the location.

In that tense situation, the four suspects who were part of the residents approached.

Without further confirmation and based on prejudice, they brutally abused the victim who was helpless. Victim R was attacked under strong suspicion for being accused of being a thief.

As a result of the beating, victim R suffered a serious injury and had to undergo intensive care.

The victim had been in a coma for seven days at the Bayu Asih Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Purwakarta, but his life could not be saved. The victim was declared dead on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at around 12.30 WIB.

After an investigation, the police finally managed to arrest and named four suspects with the initials HW (37), EF (29), NK (42) and TF (31).

The suspects were charged with Article 80 Paragraph (3) of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection, in conjunction with Article 76C of the same law.
