JAKARTA - Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong summoned Japanese Ambassador in Beijing, Kenji Kanasugi, to protest strongly at the words and actions of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi who was considered wrong in China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian at a press conference in Beijing, Friday (14/11), said Kanasugi was summoned on Thursday night.

"The root of this issue is Japan's PM Sanae Takaichi's statement about Taiwan which is very wrong, dangerous, and provocative, as well as his refusal to change its stance and withdraw its statement," Lin said.

Takaichi last week said China's use of military force against Taiwan could "due to a situation that threatens Japan's survival" and insisted it would not withdraw the statement.

According to Lin, Takaichi's statement contradicts Japan's strict constitutional control over World War II military operations, although the rule was relaxed following the 2015 revision of the national security law.

"This openly interferes with China's internal affairs, violates international law and basic norms of international relations, undermines the post-World War II international order, contrary to Chinese One principles and principles in four Chinese-Japan political documents, shakes the political foundations of China-Japan relations, and injures the feelings of the Chinese people," Lin said.

He said many politicians and influential figures in Japan had delivered criticism of Takaichi's statement.

"China respects peace and upholds good trust, but regarding sovereignty, territorial integrity, and any issues concerning China's core interests, no one should expect a compromise or concession from China," Lin said.

He stressed that anyone who challenges China's borders will face "strict and strong responses" and will "hand over in front of a steel wall forged by more than 1.4 billion Chinese people."

"Anyone who tries to block China's unification, failure is their destiny," Lin said.

In a meeting with Kanasugi, Sun Weidong said PM Takaichi's statement was very bad. Even though China has repeatedly protested loudly, Japan has shown no remorse and still refuses to withdraw the statement, he said.

China, said Sun, was very dissatisfied and firmly opposed it, and had filed a strong protest against Japan.

He stressed that the issue of Taiwan is at the core of China's interests and is a red line that should not be touched.

According to Sun, Taiwan is Chinese territory and Taiwan's business is entirely China's internal affairs. He emphasized that solving the Taiwan problem is the business of the Chinese nation and should not be disturbed by foreigners.

"Anyone who dares to interfere with China's unification process in any form will face harsh retaliation from China!" he stressed.

He added that China again urged Japan to "controvert deeply over historical errors, immediately correct its stance, and withdraw the bad statement."

"Otherwise, all the consequences must be borne by Japan," said Sun.

Earlier, China's Consul General at Osaka Xue Jian wrote the threat of "putting off his dirty neck without hesitation for a second" on platform X while citing an article about Takaichi's statement in parliament.

In response to the post, the main spokesman for the Japanese government,MinoruKihara, said the message was inappropriate for a head of a Chinese diplomatic mission. The Japanese government has filed a protest and demanded that the post be removed immediately.
