Prabowo Strengthens Indonesia-Yordania Relations In The Midst Of The Central Team Crisis

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto and King of the Kingdom of Jordan Hasyimiah Raja Abdullah II, Al Hussein, held a bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, to strengthen Indonesia-Yordania relations amid rising tensions in the Middle East (Timteng) region.

In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia and Jordan had been in a solid relationship since 74 years ago. In addition, the two countries also have a strong historical and emotional closeness.

"Our two countries have enjoyed close relations since diplomatic relations 74 years ago in October 1951. On the other hand, as you know, I have an emotional bond with Jordan," Prabowo said at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday, November 14.

Prabowo said he had a special bond with Jordan when more than 20 years ago he was warmly welcomed by the late King Hussein bin Talal.

The Indonesian government hopes to discuss opportunities for new cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations with Jordan amid global geopolitical dynamics.

"We want to work closely with you, and we also want to thank you for accepting many of our young people who are currently being trained in Jordan. Thank you very much," said Prabowo.

On the same occasion, King Abdullah II emphasized Jordan's commitment to continue to strengthen solidarity with Indonesia.

King Abdullah II highlighted the long relations and brotherhood that existed between the two countries and personally with President Prabowo.

"I am proud and honored to be here, proud and honored to call you my old friend. I know that in our discussion tonight and tomorrow, there are many new opportunities to strengthen ties between Indonesia and Jordan," said King Abdullah II.

King Abdullah II also expressed his belief that Indonesia will continue to grow under the leadership of President Prabowo.

The meeting of the two leaders marks a strong commitment from Indonesia and Jordan to continue strategic partnerships in facing global and regional challenges.
