Central Java Police Detain Undip Students Suspected Of Pornography With AI

The Directorate of Cyber Investigation of the Central Java Police detained a student at Diponegoro University (Undip) Semarang, CRA, a suspect in a suspected pornography crime case using artificial intelligence (AI).

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Artanto, said the suspect was detained on Thursday (13/11) after undergoing an examination.

"The suspect underwent examination from noon until night. He was immediately detained at the Polda detention center," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 14.

According to him, the suspect was cooperative in undergoing examination and detention.

In addition, he continued, the detention carried out by investigators has also been in accordance with applicable procedures.

Suspect CRA was charged with Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography or Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning information and electronic transactions.

CRA was named a suspect in a case of alleged pornography using artificial intelligence.

The suspect allegedly edited the face of a SMAN 11 Semarang student for pornographic content using artificial intelligence.

Videos of the suspect's edits spread widely through social media.
